1. N
ew members are only accepted and entered into the Society at the first of the month. A potential member must have played a minimum of 3 games with the administrator before they can become a member of the Society. It is customary to lose said 3 games in order to show proper respect to the wonderous administrator.
2. The schedules rotation is on a daily basis, based on alphabetical order of the members first name and is fixed for the entire month. The rotation schedule will continue on into the next month, without change, unless new members are added. Game rotaion is in force only when the administrator is present. EXAMPLE: If member A has Day 1, then member B has Day 2, member C has Day 3 and so on. If member B has Day 31, then member C has the first day of the next month and so on. New member D will be added into the schedule accordingly.
3. Only one member per computer i.e. Bert & Tammy are considered as one member in the rotation schedule, not two, regardless of which one actually plays. There can never be only 7 members as this would give the same member the same night every week. If this occurs, a rotating 8th member (made up of all 7 members) will be entered into the rotation schedule.
4. When the rotation falls upon a particular member this is hereinafter known as a "turn". The member whose turn it is may choose all aspects of the game, including, but not limited to, map type, size, victory conditions, population limit, teams, cheats etc. The goal is to achieve great scenerios that produce enjoyable games but
there are no mandates.
5. When multiple games occur, all games played in one evening and extending into the AM of the next day are still considered one "session". A member only gets one turn per session, unless full rotation for that session has occured. Turns for subsequent games in any given session will follow the
alphabetical rotaion schedule of those members present. EXAMPLE: If it is player Alphonso's turn on a Friday night then it is player Bartholomew's turn for the second game and player Chuck's turn for the third game (at 1am Saturday
morning) unless Chuck isn't there in which case it
would be player Derwood's turn, unless Derwood decides to pass and then it would be Alphonso's turn again.
6. I hereby appoint myself as the Society Administrator (and Lord of the Games) until such time that I am tired of it or have been removed from office for just cause
and/or by concensus of majority members demanding a rotation schedule for the office of administrator. The administrators duties will include maintaining the most holy website, providing sacred service of the monthly rotation schedule and sending out a periodic email newsletters to Society members. The administrator has final say on all disputes.
Addendum
7. When an internet game is disrupted and a new game must be started it is still the original player's game (turn) unless all players have advanced to the Bronze Age in AOE I or the Castle Age in AOE II.
8. Henceforth, the rotation schedule will alternate every 2 months in reverse alphabetical order so as to provide more random sequencing of the games.
9. This hereby modifies Bylaw 3. After giving B & T's request careful consideration, the administrator has decided to amend the most sacred and holy AOE, EE and Empires Society Bylaws and put each of them on the rotation schedule. However, each must play their own games. For example, if I put Xan's Wench on the schedule and then I played in her place then I would get twice as many games and that would be unfair to everyone else. So, when it's Bert's game only Bert gets to set the game parameters & play and when it's Tammy's game only Tammy gets to set the game parameters & play. If it's Bert's game and he decides not to play, Tammy can still join in the game but the setting of game parameters etc. falls to the next person in the rotation (and conversely of course for Tammy). This can only occur fairly by use of the honor system since no one else would have a way of verifying who's playing (a legal concept I'm sure everyone understands). Most members don't check the schedule and trust that I prepare it and call it out correctly for each game but they can go to the web site for verification. It's not possible for other members to do that in this case. Failure to comply with this most honorable and holy concept will result in severe Chinese finger torture. This new system will go into effect immediately.
